Sonny’s success at the European Powerlifting Championships

Last month we brought you an interview with Sonny Barrah, the under 20’s powerlifter who has been setting British records since his start in the sport only 3 years ago.  Well this week he’s been at the European Powerlifting Championships in Poland and has continued to impress.

Participating in the 82.5kg weight class, Sonny has not only broken a World Record with a 165.5kg lift and a European Record with 260.5kg, but he was also awarded Best U20 at the championships.

“Got awarded the best U20 at the GPC European championships today. Best week of my entire life. Its go time for the worlds now!!”  Sonny Barrah

Sonny has been working hard to achieve these results and deserves to enjoy his success …. but doesn’t have much time to relax – it’s the World Championships in Las Vegas in a few months…

If you would like to follow Sonny’s journey we will be tracking his progress to the World Championships so keep checking in for updates, you can also follow Sonny on Instagram @sonny_bsb
