Following a thorough audit by Chamber Certification Assessment Services (CCAS) at the beginning of March, we’re pleased to announce that Leisuresec has scored 115 in the Security Industry Authority’s (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS).

The ACS aims to raise performance standards across the private security industry. Performance is assessed against 89 indicators, with scores of +1, +2 or higher being awarded for achievements above the SIA requirements and -1, -2 or lower for those below requirements.

A company achieving a score of 67 or more is in the top 50% of approved contractors, and by almost doubling this Leisuresec is in the top quarter of UK security companies.

As an SIA Approved Contractor, Leisuresec customers and potential customers can be assured that we have demonstrated a full commitment to quality, best practice and customer service.  Our security operatives are all licensed and our employment practices have been extensively assessed by an independent assessor.

The ACS standard encourages service customisation rather than ‘off the shelf’ packages which is one of the areas Leisuresec prides itself on.  We aim to build a long-term relationship with our customers to fully understand their needs and tailor our services accordingly.

Two of the tools we use in our security services were recognised and highlighted as good practice by the CCAS auditor; our Focal Point mobile phone app and our bespoke Assignment Instruction manuals.

Focal PointFocal Point

Leisuresec are the first security company to use the Focal Point management app.  It enables our operatives to quickly and easily record activities throughout their shifts, providing KPI information as well as recording incidents.  We modify details on the app for each contract so our operative only has to spend minimal time entering information and isn’t distracted from their overall responsibilities.

When they begin a shift, the operative logs in to Focal Point which confirms (against the SIA database) the validity of their SIA licence, and through the GPS system logs their location throughout their shift.  This can be particularly useful during patrols, and for our lone workers there is a panic button on the app which notifies the control room of the operative and their location.

Focal Point also has client access so we know our customers have access to all the information relevant to their contract.
